В современном Волгограде 1964 года население составляет 600 000 человек. В городе красивые белые пляжи, по Волге, некогда окрашенной кровью, совершают поездки экскурсанты. Заводы восстановлены, город восстал из руин. Сейчас в нем более 150 фабрик и заводов, 10 современных кинотеатров, но лишь три ресторана, мало что можно купить в магазинах и мало западной роскоши. Однако есть два стадиона и много спортивных учреждений. Повсюду изображения Ленина и коммунистические лозунги, но по иронии судьбы пьедесталы, где некогда стояли
