There are two things in the world, as I have found it, which cannot be prevented (есть две вещи в мире, которые, как я обнаружил, невозможно предотвратить): you cannot keep a Zulu from fighting (невозможно удержать зулуса от схватки), or a sailor from falling in love upon the slightest provocation (или моряка от того, чтобы он не влюбился при самом малейшем поводе; to fall in love— влюбляться; provocation— приглашение, побуждение /к чему-либо/; стимул)!

When the ceremony was over we waited upon Ignosi, and informed him that we were now anxious to investigate the mystery of the mines to which Solomon's Road ran, asking him if he had discovered anything about them.
